Austria is a stunning country with so much to offer, and I’m excited to help you plan a fabulous 4-day itinerary starting from Dobbiaco, visiting Innsbruck and Salzburg, and then heading back to Genoa. Let’s dive in!

## Day 1: Dobbiaco to Innsbruck

Morning:

• Start your day with a hearty breakfast in Dobbiaco. If you have time, take a quick stroll around the beautiful Lago di Dobbiaco for some fresh mountain air.
• After breakfast, hit the road to Innsbruck (about a 2-hour drive). Enjoy the scenic views of the Dolomites along the way!

Afternoon:

• Arrive in Innsbruck and head straight to the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), the city’s most famous landmark. Snap some photos and soak in the history!
• For lunch, try some traditional Tyrolean cuisine at a local restaurant. I recommend Gasthof Weisses Rössl for some delicious schnitzel or dumplings.

Evening:

• After lunch, take a leisurely walk through the Old Town (Altstadt), exploring charming streets and shops.
• If you’re up for it, take the Nordkette Cable Car for stunning views of the city and the surrounding mountains. It’s a great way to catch the sunset!
• Dinner at Stiftskeller Innsbruck, where you can enjoy local dishes in a cozy atmosphere.

## Day 2: Innsbruck to Salzburg

Morning:

• Enjoy breakfast at your hotel or a local café, then visit the Innsbruck Imperial Palace (Hofburg) to see the beautiful architecture and learn about the Habsburgs.
• Before leaving Innsbruck, take a quick stop at the Bergisel Ski Jump for panoramic views of the city.

Afternoon:

• Drive to Salzburg (about 2 hours). Once you arrive, grab lunch at St. Peter Stiftskeller, one of the oldest restaurants in Europe.
• After lunch, head to the Hohensalzburg Fortress. You can either hike up or take the funicular. The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking!

Evening:

• Explore the charming streets of Salzburg’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Don’t miss Getreidegasse, the famous shopping street.
• For dinner, try Augustiner Bräu, a traditional beer hall where you can enjoy local brews and hearty Austrian fare.

## Day 3: Exploring Salzburg

Morning:

• Start your day with a visit to Mirabell Palace and Gardens. The gardens are stunning, especially in spring and summer!
• Afterward, visit the Mozart Birthplace museum to learn about the life of the famous composer.

Afternoon:

• For lunch, head to Cafe Tomaselli, a historic café where you can enjoy a slice of Sachertorte (a must-try chocolate cake!).
• Spend the afternoon visiting Hellbrunn Palace and its trick fountains. It’s a fun and unique experience!

Evening:

• Return to the city center and enjoy a leisurely dinner at Restaurant Esszimmer, known for its modern take on Austrian cuisine.
• If you’re in the mood, check out a classical music concert or a performance at the Salzburg Festival (if it’s the right time of year).

## Day 4: Salzburg to Genoa

Morning:

• After breakfast, take a final stroll through Salzburg, perhaps visiting the Salzburg Cathedral or doing some last-minute shopping for souvenirs.
• Start your drive back to Genoa (about 10 hours), but don’t worry! You can break up the journey with a stop in Brixen or Bolzano for lunch and a little exploration.

Afternoon:

• Enjoy a leisurely lunch in Bolzano, where you can try some delicious South Tyrolean specialties.
• Continue your drive, taking in the beautiful landscapes of the Italian Alps.

Evening:

• Arrive back in Genoa in the evening. You’ll have so many wonderful memories from your Austrian adventure!
