Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro and Transfer to Thimphu

Welcome to Bhutan! Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our guide and driver. From there, we will embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. The journey will take approximately 1.5 hours.

Once we reach Thimphu, we will check into our hotel and take some time to relax and settle in. In the afternoon, we can visit the National Memorial Chorten, a beautiful Buddhist stupa that is a popular place of worship for locals. We can also explore the vibrant local markets and indulge in some shopping for traditional Bhutanese handicrafts.

Day 2: Exploring Thimphu

After breakfast, we will start our day by visiting the majestic Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery that serves as the seat of the Bhutanese government. We can take a guided tour of the dzong and admire its intricate architecture and beautiful surroundings.

Next, we can visit the Buddha Dordenma, a massive statue of Buddha that overlooks the entire Thimphu valley. This iconic landmark offers breathtaking views and is a great spot for some family photos.

In the afternoon, we can visit the Folk Heritage Museum, which showcases the traditional Bhutanese way of life. Here, we can learn about the country's rich cultural heritage and even try our hand at traditional Bhutanese crafts.

Day 3: Journey to Punakha

Today, we will embark on a scenic drive to Punakha, a picturesque valley known for its stunning landscapes and historic sites. The journey will take approximately 3 hours, but we will make several stops along the way to admire the breathtaking views of the Himalayas.

Once we reach Punakha, we will visit the Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful dzongs in Bhutan. This architectural masterpiece is located at the confluence of two rivers and offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere.

Afterward, we can take a leisurely hike to the Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the "Temple of Fertility." This temple is dedicated to the Divine Madman and is believed to bless couples with fertility and good luck.

Day 4: Exploring Paro

Today, we will head back to Paro, a charming town nestled in the Paro Valley. Upon arrival, we will visit the iconic Paro Taktsang, also known as the Tiger's Nest Monastery. This sacred site is perched on a cliffside and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Please note that the hike to the monastery can be challenging, but it is definitely worth the effort.

In the afternoon, we can explore the Paro town and visit the National Museum of Bhutan, which houses a vast collection of artifacts and artworks that depict the country's rich cultural heritage.

Day 5: Departure from Paro

Sadly, it's time to say goodbye to Bhutan. After breakfast, we will transfer you to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. We hope you had a memorable time exploring the beautiful kingdom of Bhutan and that you will cherish the memories made during your visit.
