Welcome to Borneo! Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu, the capital city of Sabah. Take some time to relax and settle in, and perhaps explore the vibrant local markets and sample some delicious street food.
Start your day with a visit to the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque, a stunning architectural masterpiece. Then, head to the Signal Hill Observatory Platform for panoramic views of the city and the surrounding islands. In the afternoon, take a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade and enjoy the sunset.
Today, embark on a full-day snorkeling adventure in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Just a short boat ride from Kota Kinabalu, this marine park is home to beautiful coral reefs and a variety of marine life. Spend the day snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing on the pristine beaches of the park's islands.
Travel inland to Kinabalu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in Southeast Asia. Explore the park's lush rainforests, take a guided nature walk, and visit the botanical gardens to discover the incredible biodiversity of Borneo.
Head to the Kinabatangan River, one of the best places in Borneo to spot wildlife. Embark on a river safari and cruise along the river, keeping an eye out for proboscis monkeys, orangutans, pygmy elephants, and a variety of bird species. Spend the night at a riverside lodge and immerse yourself in the sounds of the jungle.
Visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where orphaned and injured orangutans are rehabilitated before being released back into the wild. Witness the feeding sessions and observe these incredible creatures up close. You can also visit the nearby Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the conservation efforts for these adorable bears.
Today, take a short flight to Semporna and then a boat ride to Sipadan Island, a world-renowned diving destination. Spend the day exploring the vibrant coral reefs, encountering sea turtles, reef sharks, and an abundance of colorful fish. Snorkel or dive in the crystal-clear waters and marvel at the underwater wonders.
Fly to Mulu National Park, another UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its impressive caves and karst formations. Take a guided tour of the Deer Cave, one of the largest cave passages in the world, and witness the spectacular exodus of millions of bats at dusk. End the day with a relaxing dip in the natural swimming pool at Clearwater Cave.
Travel to Bako National Park, the oldest national park in Sarawak. Explore the park's diverse ecosystems, including mangrove forests, rainforests, and stunning coastline. Keep an eye out for the unique proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch on one of the park's beautiful beaches.
After breakfast, bid farewell to Borneo as you transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Take with you unforgettable memories of the stunning landscapes, incredible wildlife, and warm hospitality of Borneo.
