Croatia is a beautiful country with a lot to offer, and 12 days is a great amount of time to explore some of its most stunning destinations. Here's an itinerary that I think would be perfect for a family-friendly trip, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy parks and green spaces, and accommodation in campings:

Day 1: Arrival in Zagreb

Upon arrival in Zagreb, you can check into your camping accommodation and spend the day exploring the city. Zagreb is a charming city with plenty of parks and green spaces, including Maksimir Park, which is home to a zoo and botanical garden. You can also visit the historic Upper Town, which is filled with beautiful architecture and charming cafes.

Day 2: Plitvice Lakes National Park

On day 2, you can take a day trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is about 2 hours from Zagreb. This stunning park is filled with waterfalls, lakes, and lush greenery, and is a great place to hike and explore nature.

Day 3-4: Zadar

Day 5-6: Krka National Park

Day 7-8: Split

After spending two nights in Zadar, you can head to the coastal city of Split. Here, you can explore the historic Diocletian's Palace, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can also visit the beautiful Marjan Hill, which is a great place to hike and enjoy stunning views of the city.

Day 9-10: Hvar

From Split, you can take a ferry to the island of Hvar. This beautiful island is home to stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters, and is a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. You can also explore the charming town of Hvar, which is filled with beautiful architecture and charming cafes.

Day 11-12: Dubrovnik

On your final two days in Croatia, you can head to the stunning city of Dubrovnik. Here, you can explore the historic Old Town, which is filled with ancient walls and beautiful architecture. You can also visit the nearby Lokrum Island, which is a great place to hike and enjoy stunning views of the city.
