Itinerary

The Dominican Republic is a beautiful country with so much to offer. Here's an ideal itinerary for 3 days in the Dominican Republic:

Day 1:

  • Start your day with a visit to the Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo, the oldest city in the New World. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to many historic buildings and landmarks, including the Alcazar de Colón and the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor.
  • After exploring the Zona Colonial, head to the Mercado Modelo, a bustling market where you can find everything from souvenirs to fresh produce.
  • In the afternoon, take a trip to the Boca Chica beach, a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing. You can also try some of the local seafood at one of the many restaurants along the beach.

Day 2:

  • Start your day with a visit to the Los Haitises National Park, a stunning natural reserve that is home to mangrove forests, caves, and a variety of wildlife. You can take a boat tour to explore the park and see the many species of birds and marine life that call it home.
  • After your visit to Los Haitises, head to the Samaná Peninsula, where you can take a whale watching tour (if you're visiting between January and March). The Samaná Peninsula is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, including Playa Rincon and Playa El Valle.
  • In the evening, head to Las Terrenas, a charming town on the north coast of the peninsula, where you can enjoy some of the local cuisine and nightlife.

Day 3:

  • Start your day with a visit to the Damajagua Waterfalls, a series of 27 cascading waterfalls that are perfect for swimming and exploring. You can take a guided tour to explore the falls and learn about the local flora and fauna.
  • After your visit to the waterfalls, head to the town of Cabarete, a popular spot for windsurfing and kiteboarding. You can take a lesson or rent equipment to try your hand at these exciting water sports.
  • In the evening, head back to Santo Domingo and enjoy some of the local nightlife, including live music and dancing.

Of course, this itinerary is just a starting point - there are so many amazing things to see and do in the Dominican Republic, so feel free to customize it to your interests and preferences.
