Itinerary

Galicia is a beautiful region in Spain, known for its stunning coastline, delicious seafood, and rich cultural heritage. Here's an ideal itinerary for 5 days in Galicia:

Day 1: Arrival in Santiago de Compostela

Upon arrival in Santiago de Compostela, check into your hotel and take some time to explore the city's historic center. Visit the famous Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, which is the final destination of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. Take a stroll through the charming streets of the old town, and stop at one of the many cafes or restaurants to try some local specialties like pulpo a la gallega (Galician-style octopus).

Day 2: Rias Baixas Wine Tour

Today, you'll head out on a wine tour of the Rias Baixas region, which is known for its crisp white wines made from the Albariño grape. You'll visit several wineries, where you can taste the wines and learn about the winemaking process. Along the way, you'll also enjoy stunning views of the coastline and the picturesque villages that dot the landscape.

Day 3: Costa da Morte

Today, you'll explore the rugged coastline of Costa da Morte, which is known for its wild beauty and dramatic cliffs. Start your day in the fishing village of Muxia, where you can visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Boat and take a walk along the beach. Next, head to the lighthouse at Finisterre, which was once believed to be the end of the world. From there, you can hike along the cliffs to the nearby beach of Langosteira.

Day 4: Lugo and Ourense

Today, you'll visit two of Galicia's lesser-known cities: Lugo and Ourense. In Lugo, you can walk along the ancient Roman walls that surround the city's historic center, and visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria. In Ourense, you can relax in the natural hot springs at the As Burgas thermal baths, and explore the city's many churches and monasteries.

Day 5: Santiago de Compostela

On your final day in Galicia, take some time to explore more of Santiago de Compostela. Visit the Monastery of San Martín Pinario, which is one of the largest monasteries in Spain, and stroll through the beautiful Alameda Park. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the city's many excellent restaurants, and raise a glass to a wonderful trip in Galicia!
