Hokkaido is a beautiful place with so much to see and do. Here's an ideal itinerary for 6 days in Hokkaido:

Day 1: Arrival in Sapporo

  • Arrive at New Chitose Airport and take the train or bus to Sapporo
  • Check into your hotel and explore the city
  • Visit the Sapporo Beer Museum and try some local brews
  • Have dinner at one of Sapporo's famous seafood restaurants

Day 2: Otaru Day Trip

  • Take a train or bus to Otaru, a charming port town known for its glassware and music boxes
  • Visit the Otaru Canal and take a stroll along the waterfront
  • Explore the Sakaimachi Street shopping district and browse the many shops selling souvenirs and local crafts
  • Enjoy a seafood lunch at one of the many restaurants in the area

Day 3: Furano and Biei Day Trip

Day 5: Sapporo City Tour

Day 6: Departure from Sapporo

  • Check out of your hotel and take the train or bus back to New Chitose Airport
  • If you have time before your flight, visit the Doraemon Wakuwaku Sky Park and enjoy the many interactive exhibits based on the popular Japanese cartoon character
