Itinerary

Italy is a beautiful country with so much to offer, especially during the winter season. Here's an ideal itinerary for 3 days in Italy that covers Naples, Rome, Florence, and Milan, keeping in mind the Christmas festivities and your group of three people.

Day 1: Naples

Start your day by exploring the historic center of Naples, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace of Naples, and the Castel dell'Ovo. You can also take a stroll along the seafront promenade, Lungomare Caracciolo, and enjoy the stunning views of the Bay of Naples.

In the afternoon, head to the Naples National Archaeological Museum, which houses some of the most important artifacts from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Afterward, indulge in some authentic Neapolitan pizza at one of the many pizzerias in the city.

In the evening, visit the San Carlo Theatre, one of the oldest and most prestigious opera houses in Europe. During the Christmas season, there are often special performances and concerts.

Day 2: Rome

Start your day early and head to the Vatican City, where you can visit St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums. The Sistine Chapel is a must-see, with its stunning ceiling painted by Michelangelo.

Afterward, explore the ancient Roman ruins at the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Take a break for lunch and try some traditional Roman dishes like carbonara or cacio e pepe.

In the afternoon, visit the Pantheon, one of the best-preserved ancient Roman buildings. Then, take a stroll through the charming streets of Trastevere, a picturesque neighborhood known for its narrow alleys and lively nightlife.

In the evening, head to Piazza Navona, which is transformed into a Christmas market during the holiday season. You can enjoy some hot chocolate or mulled wine while browsing the stalls selling handmade crafts and gifts.

Day 3: Florence and Milan

Start your day by taking a high-speed train from Rome to Florence, which takes about an hour and a half. Once in Florence, visit the Uffizi Gallery, which houses one of the most important collections of Renaissance art in the world.

Afterward, take a stroll through the historic center of Florence, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio, and the Piazza della Signoria.

In the afternoon, take another high-speed train to Milan, which takes about two hours. Once in Milan, head to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the oldest shopping malls in the world. You can also visit the famous La Scala opera house, which often has special performances during the Christmas season.

In the evening, head to the Piazza del Duomo, where you can see the stunning Cathedral of Milan lit up for the holidays. There are also many restaurants and bars in the area where you can enjoy some traditional Milanese cuisine.
