Welcome to Kyrgyzstan! Upon your arrival in Bishkek, the capital city, you can start your adventure by exploring the vibrant city center. Take a stroll through Ala-Too Square, visit the State Historical Museum to learn about Kyrgyzstan's rich history, and indulge in some delicious local cuisine at one of the traditional restaurants. Today, we'll head to the stunning Issyk-Kul Lake, one of the largest alpine lakes in the world. Enjoy a scenic drive along the southern shore, stopping at picturesque spots like Jeti-Oguz, known for its red rock formations, and the Fairy Tale Canyon, with its unique sandstone formations resembling castles and animals. You can also take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the lake or simply relax on the beach.
In the morning, we'll visit the charming town of Karakol, located on the eastern tip of Issyk-Kul Lake. Explore the colorful Dungan Mosque and the Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity Cathedral. Afterward, embark on a thrilling journey to Altyn Arashan, a beautiful valley known for its hot springs and stunning mountain scenery. Enjoy a rejuvenating soak in the natural hot springs and spend the night in a cozy guesthouse.
Today, we'll head to Song Kol Lake, a high-altitude alpine lake surrounded by rolling meadows and nomadic yurt camps. Immerse yourself in the nomadic lifestyle by staying in a traditional yurt and experiencing the warm hospitality of the local shepherds. Take a horseback ride around the lake, enjoy a picnic lunch, and witness the breathtaking sunset over the vast grasslands.
After breakfast, we'll drive to Kochkor, a small town known for its traditional handicrafts. Visit a local felt-making workshop and learn about the art of Kyrgyz felt carpets. You can even try your hand at making your own souvenir! In the afternoon, continue your journey to Tash Rabat, an ancient caravanserai located in the remote mountains. Explore this fascinating historical site and spend the night in a nearby yurt camp.
On the final day, we'll make our way back to Bishkek, stopping at the Burana Tower along the way. This ancient minaret is a remnant of the Silk Road era and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Once back in Bishkek, you can spend the afternoon shopping for souvenirs at the bustling Osh Bazaar or simply relax in one of the city's many parks. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant, reminiscing about your incredible journey through Kyrgyzstan.
