Itinerary

Naples is a beautiful city with so much to see and do. Here's an ideal itinerary for 3 days in Naples:

Day 1:

Start your day by visiting the historic center of Naples, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can explore the narrow streets, colorful buildings, and stunning architecture. Visit the Piazza del Plebiscito, one of the largest squares in Italy, and admire the Royal Palace of Naples and the San Carlo Theatre. After that, head to the Castel dell'Ovo, a medieval castle located on a small island in the Gulf of Naples. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea and the city from the castle.

In the afternoon, visit the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, which houses an impressive collection of ancient Roman artifacts, including mosaics, sculptures, and frescoes. End your day by enjoying some authentic Neapolitan pizza at one of the many pizzerias in the city.

Day 2:

Start your day by taking a trip to Mount Vesuvius, the famous volcano that destroyed the ancient city of Pompeii in AD 79. You can hike up to the crater and enjoy the stunning views of the Bay of Naples. After that, visit the ruins of Pompeii, which is one of the most well-preserved ancient cities in the world. You can explore the ancient streets, houses, and public buildings, and learn about the daily life of the people who lived there.

In the evening, head back to Naples and take a stroll along the Lungomare, the scenic waterfront promenade. You can enjoy the beautiful views of the sea and the city, and stop at one of the many bars or restaurants for a drink or a meal.

Day 3:

Start your day by visiting the Catacombs of San Gennaro, an underground cemetery that dates back to the early Christian era. You can explore the tunnels and see the ancient frescoes and mosaics. After that, visit the Capodimonte Museum, which houses a vast collection of art and artifacts from the 13th to the 18th century, including works by Caravaggio, Titian, and Raphael.

In the afternoon, take a trip to the island of Capri, which is located just off the coast of Naples. You can take a boat tour around the island, visit the Blue Grotto, and explore the charming town of Capri. End your day by enjoying a romantic dinner at one of the many restaurants on the island.

I hope this itinerary helps you plan your trip to Naples!
