5 day itinerary for Portugal

Itinerary

Portugal is a beautiful country with a lot to offer, and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Here's an itinerary that I think will be perfect for a romantic and fun 5-day trip:

Day 1: Arrival in Lisbon

• Start your day with a delicious breakfast at one of the many cafes in Lisbon. I recommend trying the famous pastel de nata, a traditional Portuguese pastry.
• Take a stroll through the charming streets of Alfama, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Lisbon. You'll find colorful buildings, narrow alleys, and stunning views of the city.
• Visit the iconic Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 16th century. It's a great spot for some romantic photos.
• End your day with a romantic dinner at a traditional Portuguese restaurant, where you can try some of the country's famous seafood dishes.

Day 2: Sintra and Cascais

• Take a day trip to Sintra, a picturesque town located just outside of Lisbon. Here, you'll find stunning palaces, castles, and gardens, including the famous Pena Palace.
• After exploring Sintra, head to the nearby coastal town of Cascais. This charming town is known for its beautiful beaches, quaint streets, and delicious seafood restaurants.
• Spend the evening watching the sunset over the ocean with your loved one.

Day 3: Porto

• Take a morning flight to Porto, a beautiful city located in the north of Portugal. Here, you'll find stunning architecture, delicious food, and of course, the famous port wine.
• Start your day with a visit to the historic Ribeira district, where you can stroll along the riverfront and admire the colorful buildings.
• Visit the famous Dom Luis I Bridge, which offers stunning views of the city and the Douro River.
• End your day with a romantic dinner at one of the many restaurants in Porto, where you can try some of the city's famous dishes, such as francesinha or bacalhau.

Day 4: Douro Valley

• Take a day trip to the Douro Valley, a beautiful region known for its vineyards and stunning landscapes.
• Take a scenic drive through the valley, stopping at various wineries along the way to taste some of the famous port wine.
• Enjoy a romantic picnic lunch in one of the many beautiful spots in the valley.
• Return to Porto in the evening for a relaxing evening.

Day 5: Lisbon

• Return to Lisbon for your final day in Portugal.
• Spend the day exploring the city's many museums and art galleries, such as the National Museum of Ancient Art or the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum.
• Take a romantic sunset cruise along the Tagus River, where you can enjoy stunning views of the city from the water.
• End your trip with a romantic dinner at one of Lisbon's many rooftop restaurants, where you can enjoy a delicious meal with a view.
