Itinerary
Rome is a beautiful city with so much to see and do. Here's an ideal itinerary for 2 days in Rome:
Day 1:
- Start your day early with a visit to the Colosseum, one of the most iconic landmarks in Rome. You can take a guided tour or explore on your own.
- After the Colosseum, head over to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, which are located right next to each other. These ancient ruins offer a glimpse into the history of Rome.
- For lunch, head to Trastevere, a charming neighborhood known for its narrow streets and delicious food. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from.
- In the afternoon, visit the Pantheon, a stunning temple that dates back to ancient Rome. It's free to enter and definitely worth a visit.
- End your day at Piazza Navona, a beautiful square with three fountains and plenty of street performers. Grab a gelato and enjoy the atmosphere.
Day 2:
- Start your day at the Vatican Museums, which house some of the most famous art in the world, including the Sistine Chapel. Be sure to book your tickets in advance to avoid long lines.
- After the Vatican Museums, head over to St. Peter's Basilica, one of the largest churches in the world. The interior is breathtaking and there's plenty to see.
- For lunch, head to Campo de' Fiori, a bustling market square with plenty of food options. Try some fresh pasta or pizza.
- In the afternoon, visit the Trevi Fountain, one of the most famous fountains in the world. Legend has it that if you throw a coin into the fountain, you'll return to Rome someday.
- End your day at the Spanish Steps, a beautiful staircase that leads up to a church. It's a great place to people-watch and take in the views of Rome.
Of course, there's so much more to see and do in Rome, but this itinerary should give you a good taste of what the city has to offer. Enjoy your trip!
