Rome is a beautiful city with so much to see and do. Here's an ideal itinerary for 4 days in Rome that would be perfect for couples:

Day 1:

• Start your day by visiting the Colosseum, one of the most iconic landmarks in Rome. You can take a guided tour or explore on your own.
• After the Colosseum, head over to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, which are located right next to each other. These ancient ruins offer a glimpse into the history of Rome.
• For lunch, head to Trastevere, a charming neighborhood known for its narrow streets and delicious food. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but I recommend trying some traditional Roman dishes like carbonara or cacio e pepe.
• In the afternoon, visit the Pantheon, a stunning temple dedicated to all the gods of Ancient Rome. It's free to enter and definitely worth a visit.
• End your day by taking a romantic stroll through Piazza Navona, a beautiful square with fountains and street performers.

Day 2:

• Start your day by visiting Vatican City, the smallest country in the world. You can take a guided tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica.
• For lunch, head to Campo de' Fiori, a bustling market square with plenty of food options. Try some fresh pasta or pizza, and don't forget to grab some gelato for dessert!
• In the afternoon, visit the Spanish Steps, a famous landmark with a beautiful view of the city. You can climb to the top for even better views.
• End your day by taking a romantic walk along the Tiber River, which runs through the heart of Rome.

Day 3:

• Start your day by visiting the Trevi Fountain, a stunning Baroque masterpiece. Legend has it that if you throw a coin into the fountain, you'll return to Rome someday.

• End your day by visiting the Castel Sant'Angelo, a fortress that was once used as a papal residence.

Day 4:

• Start your day by visiting the Appian Way, an ancient road that was once used to transport goods and soldiers. You can rent a bike or take a guided tour of the area.
• For lunch, head to Monti, a trendy neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and bars. Try some bruschetta or antipasti, and don't forget to try some local wine!
• In the afternoon, visit the Capitoline Museums, which are located on top of Capitoline Hill. These museums have a vast collection of ancient Roman artifacts and artwork.
• End your day by taking a romantic walk through the Jewish Ghetto, a historic neighborhood with plenty of charm and character. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, but I recommend trying some traditional Jewish dishes like fried artichokes or carciofi alla giudia.
