Here's an ideal itinerary for 2 days in San Francisco:

Day 1:

  • Start your day with a delicious breakfast at Mama's on Washington Square. This cozy little spot is known for their amazing breakfast dishes, including their famous Dungeness crab benedict.
  • After breakfast, head over to Fisherman's Wharf. Take a stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. You can also check out the sea lions lounging on the docks.
  • From Fisherman's Wharf, take a cable car ride up to Lombard Street, known as the "crookedest street in the world." Walk down the winding street and take in the beautiful gardens and stunning views of the city.
  • Next, head over to Chinatown for lunch. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from, but I recommend R&G Lounge for their delicious Chinese cuisine.
  • After lunch, take a walk through the colorful streets of Chinatown and explore the shops and markets.
  • In the evening, head over to North Beach for dinner. This neighborhood is known for its Italian cuisine, so be sure to try some authentic pasta or pizza. I recommend Tony's Pizza Napoletana for their award-winning pies.

Day 2:

  • Start your day with breakfast at Plow in Potrero Hill. This popular brunch spot is known for their farm-to-table dishes and amazing coffee.
  • After breakfast, head over to Golden Gate Park. This massive park has plenty to see and do, including the Japanese Tea Garden, the de Young Museum, and the California Academy of Sciences (which we'll skip since it's a museum). Instead, you can rent a bike and ride through the park, stopping to take in the beautiful scenery.
  • For lunch, head over to the Mission District. This neighborhood is known for its diverse food scene, so you can find just about anything you're craving. I recommend La Taqueria for their delicious tacos.
  • After lunch, take a walk through the colorful murals in the Mission District. This neighborhood is known for its street art, and there are plenty of amazing murals to see.
  • In the evening, head over to the Ferry Building Marketplace for dinner. This historic building has been transformed into a foodie paradise, with dozens of vendors selling everything from artisanal cheeses to fresh oysters. Be sure to try the famous clam chowder from Hog Island Oyster Co.
