South Africa is a wonderful destination for families with kids, and there are plenty of exciting things to do and see. Here's an ideal itinerary for 5 days in South Africa that will keep both parents and kids entertained:

Day 1: Cape Town

Start your trip in Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Spend the day exploring the city's many attractions, such as Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. For lunch, head to the Old Biscuit Mill, a trendy market with food stalls and artisanal shops. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive along Chapman's Peak Drive, which offers stunning views of the coastline.

Day 2: Cape Peninsula

Today, take a day trip to the Cape Peninsula, where you can visit the Cape of Good Hope and see penguins at Boulders Beach. Start your day by driving to Hout Bay, where you can take a boat ride to Seal Island. From there, continue on to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you can hike to the lighthouse and enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean. Day 5: Johannesburg

On your last day in South Africa, head to Johannesburg, the country's largest city. Start your day by visiting the Apartheid Museum, which tells the story of South Africa's struggle for freedom and democracy. From there, head to the nearby Soweto township, where you can take a tour and learn about the area's history and culture. For lunch, stop at one of the many restaurants in the trendy Maboneng Precinct. In the afternoon, visit the Cradle of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that contains some of the oldest hominid fossils ever discovered.
