South Korea is a beautiful country with so much to offer. Here's an ideal itinerary for 8 days in South Korea:
Day 1: Arrival in Seoul
Upon arrival at Incheon International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Seoul. Spend the day exploring the city on your own, or take a guided tour of some of the city's most famous landmarks such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan Tower, and Myeong-dong shopping district.
Day 2: Seoul City Tour
Start your day with a visit to Changdeokgung Palace, one of the five grand palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty. Then, head to Bukchon Hanok Village, a traditional Korean village that has been preserved for over 600 years. After lunch, visit Insadong, a popular shopping district known for its traditional crafts and souvenirs.
Day 3: DMZ Tour
Take a tour of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), which separates North and South Korea. Visit the Joint Security Area (JSA) and Panmunjom, where you can see the actual border between the two countries. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the history and current state of affairs between North and South Korea.
Day 4: Busan
Take a high-speed train to Busan, South Korea's second-largest city. Visit Haeundae Beach, one of the most popular beaches in the country, and then head to Gamcheon Culture Village, a colorful hillside village with narrow streets and alleyways. End the day with a visit to Jagalchi Fish Market, the largest fish market in Korea.
Day 5: Gyeongju
Take a day trip to Gyeongju, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "museum without walls." Visit Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, and the Royal Tomb Complex. These sites are some of the best examples of Korean Buddhist art and architecture.
Day 6: Jeju Island
Fly to Jeju Island, a volcanic island known for its natural beauty and unique culture. Visit Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and then head to Manjanggul Cave, one of the longest lava tubes in the world. End the day with a visit to Jeju Folk Village, where you can learn about traditional Jeju culture.
Day 7: Jeju Island
Spend the day exploring Jeju Island on your own. You can rent a car or take a guided tour to visit some of the island's other famous attractions such as Hallasan National Park, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, and Teddy Bear Museum.
Day 8: Departure
Transfer to Jeju International Airport for your flight back home.
