Welcome to Tanzania! Arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam. After checking into your hotel, take some time to relax. If you’re up for it, explore the vibrant city. Visit the National Museum or take a stroll along the waterfront at the Slipway. Enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, perhaps trying some fresh seafood!
Catch a morning ferry or flight to Zanzibar. Once you arrive, check into your hotel in Stone Town. Spend the afternoon wandering through the narrow streets, visiting the Old Fort, and the House of Wonders. Don’t forget to try some local street food like Zanzibar pizza for dinner!
Today, take a spice tour to learn about the island’s famous spices. In the afternoon, relax on the beautiful beaches of Nungwi or Kendwa. Enjoy a sunset dinner by the beach, soaking in the island vibes.
Visit Jozani Forest to see the rare Red Colobus monkeys. Afterward, head to the beautiful beaches of Paje or Jambiani for some sunbathing or water sports. You can also try kite surfing if you’re feeling adventurous!
Fly back to Dar es Salaam and then take a flight to Arusha. Check into your hotel and spend the evening relaxing. If you have time, visit the local markets for some souvenirs and a taste of local life.
Early morning, set off for Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a full day of game drives. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park. Return to your lodge for dinner and a good night’s rest.
After breakfast, head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the crater for a day of wildlife viewing. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to a variety of animals, including the Big Five! Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before continuing your exploration. Overnight at a lodge on the rim of the crater.
Depart for the Serengeti! On the way, stop at a Maasai village to learn about their culture. Once in the Serengeti, embark on an afternoon game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for the Great Migration if you’re visiting during the right season! Overnight at a lodge or tented camp in the Serengeti.
Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti. You can opt for a morning and evening game drive, or even a hot air balloon ride at sunrise for a breathtaking view of the landscape. Enjoy a bush dinner under the stars if your lodge offers it!
After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy a game drive and take in the stunning views of the lake and the surrounding escarpment. Look out for the famous tree-climbing lions! Overnight at a lodge near the park.
Spend the morning exploring Lake Manyara before heading back to Arusha. Once in Arusha, you can visit the Cultural Heritage Centre for some shopping and to learn about Tanzanian art and culture. Enjoy a nice dinner in town.
Take a day trip to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park. You can hike part of the Marangu Route or simply enjoy the views of Africa’s highest peak. Return to Arusha for the night.
Fly back to Dar es Salaam. Spend your last day relaxing at the beach or visiting any sites you may have missed on your first day. Enjoy a farewell dinner at a nice restaurant, reflecting on your amazing journey through Tanzania.
