Tokyo is an incredible city with so much to offer, and I’m excited to help you plan a fantastic 5-day itinerary. Let’s dive right in!

## Day 1: Arrival and Shinjuku Exploration

Morning:

• Arrive in Tokyo and check into your hotel. If you’re staying in Shinjuku, you’re in for a treat!
• Grab a quick breakfast at a local café or convenience store (try onigiri – rice balls – they’re delicious!).

Afternoon:

It’s a beautiful park, especially if you’re lucky enough to catch the cherry blossoms in season.
• Afterward, explore the bustling streets of Shinjuku. Check out the famous Robot Restaurant for a quirky experience (make sure to book in advance!).

Evening:

• Dinner in Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) for some yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and a taste of local izakaya culture.
• End your night at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for a free observation deck view of the city skyline.

## Day 2: Shibuya and Harajuku

Morning:

• Start your day with breakfast at a trendy café in Shibuya.
• Visit the iconic Shibuya Crossing and take some photos. Don’t forget to check out the Hachiko Statue!

Afternoon:

• Head to Harajuku and explore Takeshita Street for some unique shopping and street food (try the crepes!).
• Visit the serene Meiji Shrine, a beautiful Shinto shrine surrounded by a lush forest.

Evening:

• Dinner in Harajuku or Shibuya. Consider trying out a themed restaurant like the Alice in Wonderland café for a whimsical experience.
• If you’re up for it, check out the nightlife in Shibuya. Nonbei Yokocho (Drunkard’s Alley) is a great spot for a bar-hopping adventure!

## Day 3: Asakusa and Ueno

Morning:

• Head to Asakusa and visit the famous Senso-ji Temple. Don’t forget to explore the Nakamise shopping street for souvenirs and snacks.
• Grab some traditional Japanese sweets while you’re there!

Afternoon:

• Make your way to Ueno Park. You can visit the Tokyo National Museum or just enjoy the park’s beautiful scenery.
• If you’re into animals, the Ueno Zoo is also a fun stop.

Evening:

• Dinner in Ueno. Try some local ramen or sushi at one of the many restaurants.
• If you have energy left, explore the Ameyoko Market for some late-night shopping and street food.

## Day 4: Akihabara and Ginza

Morning:

• Start your day in Akihabara, the mecca for electronics and otaku culture. Check out the various shops, including anime and manga stores.
• Don’t miss a visit to a Maid Café for a unique dining experience!

Afternoon:

• Head to Ginza, Tokyo’s upscale shopping district. Even if you’re not shopping, the architecture and window displays are worth seeing.
• Stop by the Ginza Six shopping complex for some high-end shopping or just to admire the building.

Evening:

• Enjoy dinner at a sushi restaurant in Ginza. You can find some fantastic sushi bars here.
• After dinner, take a stroll through the illuminated streets of Ginza and maybe grab a drink at a rooftop bar for a stunning view of the city.

## Day 5: Odaiba and Departure

Morning:

• Head to Odaiba, a futuristic man-made island. Start with a visit to TeamLab Borderless (make sure to book tickets in advance!).
• Explore the DiverCity Tokyo Plaza and check out the life-sized Gundam statue.

Afternoon:

• Enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants in Odaiba, then take a ride on the Yurikamome Line for a scenic view of the Rainbow Bridge.
• If time allows, visit the Oedo Onsen Monogatari for a relaxing onsen experience (hot springs) before you head back.

Evening:

• Depending on your flight time, grab a final dinner in Tokyo. You could revisit a favorite spot or try something new!
• Head to the airport, filled with amazing memories and maybe a few souvenirs to take home.
