Vietnam is a beautiful country with so much to see and do. Here's an ideal itinerary for 3 days in Vietnam:

Day 1:

  • Start your day early with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi. This is a must-visit attraction in Vietnam, where you can pay your respects to the country's beloved leader.
  • After that, head over to the Temple of Literature, which is just a short walk away. This temple was built in honor of Confucius and is one of the oldest universities in Vietnam.
  • For lunch, try some delicious Vietnamese street food at the Old Quarter. You'll find plenty of options here, from pho to banh mi to spring rolls.
  • In the afternoon, take a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and visit Ngoc Son Temple, which is located on an island in the middle of the lake.
  • End your day with a traditional water puppet show at Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre.

Day 2:

  • Take a day trip to Halong Bay, which is about a 4-hour drive from Hanoi. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is known for its stunning limestone cliffs and emerald waters.
  • Once you arrive, hop on a boat tour to explore the bay and its many islands. You can also go kayaking or swimming if you'd like.
  • Enjoy a seafood lunch on board the boat before heading back to Hanoi in the evening.

Day 3:

  • Start your day with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels, which are located about 40 km outside of Ho Chi Minh City. These tunnels were used by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War and offer a fascinating glimpse into the country's history.
