Shanghai is a vibrant and exciting city with so much to see and do. Here's an ideal itinerary for 4 days in Shanghai:

Day 1:

Start your day by visiting the iconic Bund, a waterfront area that offers stunning views of the city skyline. Take a stroll along the promenade and admire the colonial architecture of the buildings. Afterward, head to Yu Garden, a beautiful classical Chinese garden that dates back to the Ming Dynasty. You can also explore the nearby bazaar for some souvenir shopping. In the evening, catch a performance at the Shanghai Acrobatics Troupe or enjoy a night cruise on the Huangpu River.

Day 2:

Begin your day by visiting the Shanghai Museum, which houses over 120,000 pieces of ancient Chinese art and artifacts. Next, head to the French Concession, a charming neighborhood with tree-lined streets, cafes, and boutique shops. Stop by Tianzifang, a maze-like alleyway filled with art galleries, cafes, and shops selling unique handicrafts. In the evening, visit Xintiandi, a trendy pedestrian street with upscale restaurants and bars.

Day 3:

Start your day by visiting the Jade Buddha Temple, a Buddhist temple that houses two jade Buddha statues brought from Burma. Next, head to the Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China and the second-tallest in the world. Take the elevator to the observation deck on the 118th floor for breathtaking views of the city. In the afternoon, visit the Shanghai World Financial Center, another skyscraper with an observation deck on the 100th floor. In the evening, catch a show at the Shanghai Grand Theatre or enjoy a drink at one of the rooftop bars in the city.

Day 4:

Begin your day by visiting the Zhujiajiao Water Town, a picturesque town located about an hour outside of Shanghai. Take a boat ride along the canals and admire the traditional architecture of the buildings. In the afternoon, visit the Oriental Pearl Tower, a landmark tower with an observation deck and a glass-bottomed walkway. You can also visit the nearby Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, which houses over 450 species of marine life. In the evening, enjoy a night out in the vibrant nightlife district of Xujiahui.

I hope this itinerary helps you plan your trip to Shanghai!
